Joplin Police Department to Host Free Pool Party at Schifferdecker Aquatic Center

JOPLIN, Mo. – The Joplin Police Department, in collaboration with the Joplin Fire Department, Joplin Health Department, Project K.I.D.S., and Starbucks, is set to host a free Pool Party tomorrow, Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 4 PM to 6 PM at the Schifferdecker Aquatic Center, located at W 4th St & S Schifferdecker Ave. 

This community event promises a fun-filled afternoon for families and interactive displays of emergency vehicles. The event, designed to foster community engagement, will offer a chance for residents to enjoy the aquatic center’s amenities, including its lazy river, water slides, and diving boards, all at no cost. 

“It’s for education and fun,” JPD Officer Lacey Baxter told NewsTalk KZRG.

“There’ll be free hotdogs and free swimming at that time,” she added.

Attendees can also indulge in complimentary hot dogs and refreshments, courtesy of the participating organizations. Static displays of police and fire department vehicles will provide an educational opportunity, allowing children and families to explore the equipment up close and interact with first responders.
