Neosho mourns loss of former Chief of Police Jason Baird

The City of Neosho is mourning the loss of its former Police Chief.

A message from the city, released today, reads as follows:

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of former Chief of Police Jason Baird. Chief Baird devoted 28 years of exemplary service to the Neosho Police Department, leaving an indelible mark through his leadership, integrity, and compassion.

“Throughout his career, Chief Baird exemplified the highest standards of public safety and justice. His commitment to the well-being of Neosho’s residents was matched only by his genuine care for people, making an impact that will continue for years to come.

“Chief Baird’s untimely passing is a tremendous loss to our community. While his retirement was brief, his legacy is vast, and it continues to inspire those who worked alongside him and those he served. Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and all who mourn him.

“Details regarding memorial services will be shared as they become available. We invite everyone to take a moment to reflect on Chief Baird’s contributions and the impact he had on our community.
