Boat explodes at Lake of the Ozarks; St. Joseph man hospitalized

A boat explosion at the Lake of the Ozarks around 12:15 on Friday, June 27 sent a man from St. Joseph to the hospital.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident took place in Standing Rock Hollow at the Lake.

The 70-year-old man from St. Joseph was trying to start a cabin cruiser when the boat exploded.

He and a 35-year-old passenger from St. Joseph suffered non life-threatening injuries.

The Highway Patrol says the boat sank.
