Two under arrest in Pittsburg following serving of search warrant

On Wednesday morning, June 25, 2025, at approximately 09:15 AM, law enforcement officers with the Pittsburg Police Department executed a drug search warrant in the 200 block of E 15th Street in Pittsburg.
The search warrant stemmed from an investigation into the possession of controlled substances, specifically methamphetamine.
Upon execution of the search warrant, one adult female, a juvenile and an infant were located inside the residence. An adult male subject was also found to be inside a locked garage. The male subject in the garage initially refused to exit and as forced entry was being made, the subject eventually complied and unlocked the door. He was taken into custody without any further incident. Evidence was collected and subjects were interviewed in reference to this case.
During the investigation, suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located and seized. As a result, 45-year-old Ashby Hayden Skaggs and 42-year-old Lisa Renee Mize, were placed under arrest. Additionally, the infant and juvenile were taken into police protective custody as Children in Need of Care. The City of Pittsburg Codes department was contacted in reference to electrical and structural concerns about the residence.
As a result, Skaggs and Mize, of Pittsburg, were transported to the Crawford County Sheriff’s office for booking.
Skaggs was arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, felony interference with law enforcement, and two outstanding warrants out of Bourbon County Kansas and Taney County Missouri. Skaggs is currently being held without bond.
Mize was arrested for felony interference with law enforcement. Mize is currently being held without bond.
Skaggs and Mize are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
