Car chase starts in Carthage ends in Carterville

Carthage Police early Tuesday morning tried to pull over a car that refused to stop.  

A chase started and went west on several county roads.  

Carthage Police Lt. Eric Miller told Newstalk KZRG:

“When the car got to County Road 180 and Route 66, Jasper County (Sheriff deputies) were in the area and assisted us by deploying spike strips. The vehicle continued for a short while longer into Carterville. Once into Carterville near Iron Horse Lane, the driver bailed on foot and was pursued by officers into the wooded area. A short distance later, he gave up and was taken into custody without any further incident.”

Billy Osborne of Carthage was taken into custody on several charges.
