One man in custody after fiery crash on I-44/Hwy 60 near Vinita

One man is in custody after a fiery crash on I-44 near Vinita, Oklahoma, on Thursday.

Troopers responded to a crash today involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle at the Vinita exit on the Will Rogers Turnpike.
The driver of the passenger car, identified as Nurbin Remigio Hernandez-Guzman, lost control and struck the semi, causing the semi-truck to leave the roadway and go off a bridge, down onto Highway 60.
The semi caught fire, but remarkably, the driver sustained only minor injuries.
Hernandez-Guzman fled the scene on foot.
Troopers launched a relentless search, and after approximately three hours, located and apprehended him in a nearby wooded area.
He was booked into the Craig County Jail on the following charges:
- Leaving the scene of an injury crash
- Reckless driving
- Obstruction
- Driving without a license
- Failure to maintain insurance
- Hold for ICE (paperwork in file)
This incident remains under investigation.
