Joplin Fire Department Responds to a Reported Fire at the Tanglewood Apartments

At 1:36PM, June 16th, the Joplin 911 center received a report of a fire located at the Tanglewood Apartment Complex (2525 E. 32nd St.).

On arrival, firefighters found smoke coming from an apartment on the second floor of Building J.

Fire crews began an aggressive attack on the fire while simultaneously clearing the rest of the building of occupants.

The fire was placed under control within 15 minutes of arrival.  There were no injuries to occupants or firefighters.

The fire originated in the kitchen because of combustible materials being placed on top of a stove and the stove being accidentally turned on.

Fire damage was limited to the apartment of origin.

The Joplin Fire Department was assisted by METS Ambulance and the Joplin Police Department.
