Heart attacks on the rise

(Missourinet) Americans are dying from heart attacks in their homes a lot lately, doctors are saying. Researchers at Mass General Brigham, affiliated with Harvard, have found heart-associated deaths have gone up considerably in the years since the Covid pandemic.

The exact number isn’t known, but many of the reported deaths have been at home, despite decreasing heart related deaths in hospitals. Covid has been shown to damage the heart and blood vessels, and may be a factor. Researchers say many factors are in play, including diet and lifestyle.
