Missouri Senate passes Kansas City stadium funding bill

The Kansas City Chiefs and Royals get a win at the Missouri Capitol.
The state Senate has put the pedal to the metal on a bill that is designed to keep the teams in Missouri.
It has passed Marshall Senator Kurtis Gregory’s bill that would fund up to 50-percent of the costs to build or renovate stadiums for the Chiefs and Royals.
Gregory told Newstalk KZRG: “I also contest that the teams want to stay in Missouri because if they wanted to go to Kansas, I believe they would have already signed on the dotted line to move those teams.”
Between the Royals planning to build a new stadium and the Chiefs considering upgrades to Arrowhead Stadium, the projects are estimated to cost a total in the realm of three-billion dollars.
The bill goes to the House for more debate.
