Game time: Missouri Senate primed to debate Chiefs and Royals stadium funding bill

An offer designed to keep the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals in Missouri could make its way to the state Senate on Wednesday.
Marshall state Senator Kurtis Gregory says his bill would fund as much as 50-percent of the total cost of building or renovating stadiums for the teams.
“What the Department of Economic Development the Governor’s office has put together, I think, is a package that is not only responsible – we’re not throwing the entire house, but maybe like half the kitchen sink at the teams,” says Gregory.
The Royals plan to build a new stadium and surrounding district totaling one-to-two-billion dollars and the Chiefs are considering upgrades to Arrowhead Stadium totaling 1.15-billion dollars.
If you do the math, that could be in the realm of 1.5-billion dollars in state funding over 30 years to cover the stadium makeovers.
