World Street Painting Festival June 4th thru 7th at Schifferdecker Park

Wednesday through Saturday, Joplin’s Schifferdecker Park will be hosting 10 international 3D street painters for the World Street Painting Festival.

Joplin Convention and Visitors Bureau Patrick Tuttle tells Newstalk KZRG:

“This is the World Street Painting Foundation’s 10th anniversary as well and they primarily do events in the Netherlands and in Germany. We’re the only US based event right now, exclusively. We’re right here right now for the next two years on Route 66.”

Mike of The World Street Painting’s Foundation tells KZRG:

“Well, within the world of 3D street art, we have a niche of artists, say about 30, 35 worldwide. They really have this trick down and make beautiful art, interactive art. It’s always a challenge. It’s always great to work with them. It’s like a little reunion, coming back and forth every festival, seeing each other again. And well, I promised him (Patrick Tuttle) last year, I promised him for this year, they will get some great art on the street and have a lot of fun for the crowd to come in and interact with it.”

The big reveal will be Saturday 10 AM thru 2 PM at 7th and Schifferdecker inside the park.

The festival celebrates Joplin’s contribution to the Route 66 Centennial.

The event will feature ten international artists, including participants from countries like Japan, Mexico, and Germany, who will create stunning 3D street art.

Next year, 20 artists are expected to participate.
