Kansas City Chiefs and Royals considering Kansas offer – Missouri could lose lots of money

The original offer by the state of Kansas to the Chiefs and Royals to move out of Missouri was set to expire at the end of June,
A few days ago, the Chiefs asked Kansas to extend their offer until the end of this year.
Missouri state senator Jill Carter explained to Newstalk KZRG what the Kansas offer was:
“What Kansas is offering is for them to have their own stadium that’s owned by them that is paid by, I think it’s 50% of taxpayer dollars. So I mean, that is a sweeter package than what Missouri is offering at this time. And so we’re just going to have to kind of see what, what plays out.”
Reports are that Kansas lawmakers are considering the request.
If the Chiefs and Royals decide to move to the Kansas side, how much revenue will the state of Missouri lose?
State senator Jill Carter tells Newstalk KZRG, it will be a lot of money.
“We do know that we’ll lose about $50 million if they do leave that. That’s just in, in tax revenue and in income tax and things like that from the players. But we’ll just continue to watch it. I do not see us going back into a special session to offer a sweeter package.”
