Two teens killed in semi-truck accident in Webster County

Two people killed in a highway accident on U.S. 60 just east of Rogersville in Webster County.

The teenage driver of a 2008 Mercury Mariner was heading north on a side road and a Kenworth Big Rig was heading west on U.S. Highway 60 around 9:30 Thursday night.

The car began crossing the westbound lanes of Highway 60 and was struck by the Kenworth.

The car overturned several times.

Two teenage passengers in the car, one a boy, the other a girl from Rogersville. were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, a 17-year-old girl from Rogersville had moderate injuries. She was taken to a Springfield hospital.

The 78-year-old male truck driver was not injured.
