A 2017 Chevy Trax hit a 2025 Peterbuilt tractor-trailer in Barton County late Friday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it happened when the eastbound Chevrolet failed to stop a stop sign on Highway 43, about 2 miles east of Liberal at 11:30 Friday morning.
The car, operated by a 28-year-old man from Golden City, then ploughed into the southbound big rig, driven by a 43-year old man from Joplin.
The Chevy driver had moderate injuries. He was taken to a Joplin hospital.
The truck driver was not injured.
