United Way to host Care Partner Summit

The United Way of Southwest Missouri and Southeast Kansas is hosting its 4th annual Care Partner Network Summit!
Event organizers Michelle Lester and Michael Feiveson joined the KZRG Morning Newswatch to talk about it!
“The main part of the event is coordinating,” said Feiveson. “So if I have somebody that comes in and needs a job but they don’t have housing, then we have to refer them for housing or they don’t have transportation. This summit brings everybody together.”
“I feel like people are helped much faster because we put them directly with who [knows how to help them best],” said Lester. “If someone calls the care partner network and they need help with their utility bill, then we can directly link them to agencies that can help them with that. So they’re not calling eight or ten different phone numbers hoping that eventually they get someone or can find some help. But we take the burden off of them and so then it puts it in our court and then we reach back out to them.”
