Pittsburg man arrested after Saturday morning stabbing on Broadway

A man from Pittsburg, Kansas, has been arrested after a stabbing over the weekend.

Police say 47-year-old Marlon Nerro Valladares is now charged with felony aggravated battery and assault.

Two victims reported being approached by an unknown white male wearing a black hoodie carrying a knife near the 300 block of South Broadway early Saturday morning.

One victim was stabbed during the altercation that ensued.

The suspect, Valladares, left prior to officers’ arrival, but was taken into custody Sunday afternoon. He is currently being held without bond.

The injured victim was transported by EMS to a local hospital for treatment.
