Despite the Missouri Legislature’s session ending in two weeks, many priorities are still up in the air

Despite the Missouri Legislature’s session ending in two weeks, many priorities are still up in the air.

Missouri lawmakers are up against Friday’s deadline to pass a state operating budget.

Disagreements expected include the level of state aid to K-12 public schools, 50-million-dollars to send students to private school, and reduced funding and staffing within the Secretary of State’s and Lieutenant Governor’s offices.

Lawmakers are expected to go another round on Proposition A’s paid sick leave requirements.

Two other lingering top priorities – a measure that would ask voters to scale back voter-approved abortion rights and a tax credit package to bolster access to childcare.
