Hawley among handful of Republicans who could sink Trump’s ‘big, beautiful budget bill’

A handful of Republicans in Congress could torpedo President Trump’s “big, beautiful tax bill,” including one from Missouri. 

The budget reconciliation bill, which passed the U.S. House weeks ago, is now in the hands of the Senate. 

The Wall Street Journal reports that there could be several Republican defectors on a number of proposed budget cuts. 

They include Missouri Senator Josh Hawley. 

Despite being a staunch ally of the president, Hawley is on record as saying he will oppose any cuts to Medicare and Medicaid.
