Joplin firefighter suffers medical emergency during training

UPDATE: JFD says their firefighter is recovering and doing well!

The City of Joplin issued a news release earlier today.

A Joplin Firefighter suffered a medical emergency during a scheduled training exercise today (3-25-2025) around 10 a.m. at the Joplin Public Safety Training Center.

Fellow Joplin firefighters provided immediate assistance on scene and the firefighter was transported to a local hospital where they are listed in critical but stable condition. The family of this firefighter have been notified.

The City will provide more details as they develop.
