Carthage resident taken into custody for failure to appear in Barton County

A Carthage resident is under arrest in Barton County, accused of Failure to Appear on two counts of assault in the 3rd Degree

Billy Joe Brewer, III was taken into custody Monday morning.

Court papers show the case stems from an incident on December 26 2024 at 601 Depot Ave. in Golden City when Brewer allegedly attempted to cause physical injury by dragging a woman off her bed and punching her in the face.

Brewer is being held on a $2,500 Cash/Surety bond.
