Marionville man charged in overdose death of ex-lover

A man from Marionville, Missouri, has been charged with second-degree murder after the overdose death of his ex-lover.

Court documents allege that on Thursday, March 13, 41-year-old William Standifer supplied 50-year-old Amy Brenner, also of Marionville, with a combination of meth and cocaine.

Standifer told investigators that Brenner laid on the couch the entire next day and did not wake up.

A doctor says Brenner had a brain aneurysm, caused by the drug usage. She was pronounced dead at a Springfield hospital early Monday morning.

Standifer has been denied bond and sits in the Lawrence County Jail.

He faces two felony counts.

He will be back in court Monday.
