Man from Carthage dies in accident west of Neosho

An accident on U.S. 60, three miles west of Neosho around 12:25 p.m. on Friday took the life of a man from Carthage.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when a 71-year-old man from Carthage riding a westbound 2005 Honda Trike tried to make a U-Turn on U.S. 60.

He pulled into the path of a westbound 2014 Ford Explorer driven by a 21-year-old man from Goodman.

The driver of the Trike was pronounced dead a little over an hour later at a local hospital. The driver of the Explorer was not injured.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol does not provide the names of vehicle accident victims.
