Sexual exploitation of a child arrest made in Pittsburg

The Pittsburg, Kansas Police Department issued the following news release Wednesday afternoon:

“On December 12, 2024, the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force out of Wichita, Kansas received information indicating an unknown suspect had downloaded and shared child pornographic images from the Internet. An investigation was initiated by the ICAC Task Force and it was determined the images were being uploaded from an address in the City of Pittsburg

“On January 21, 2025, the Pittsburg Police Department took over the investigation and began to follow up on leads. Through investigative efforts a suspect was identified, and a residential search warrant was obtained.

“On March 5, 2025, detectives and officers from the Pittsburg Police Department executed the search warrant in the 1200 block of East 7th Street in reference to this case.

“Evidence related to the investigation was collected and 32yearold Robert Baeza II was taken into custody without incident.

“Based on the evidence within this case Baeza II was placed under arrest for felony sexual exploitation of a child, felony internet trading of child pornography, and felony breach of privacy. Mr. Baeza was transported to the Crawford County Jail where he was booked in and is being held without bond

“Mr. Baeza II is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
