Salvation Army, American Red Cross to host community disaster showcase and training event

SPRINGFIELD, MO — The American Red Cross and The Salvation Army are partnering to host a two-day community event, Love Beyond Times of Disaster.

It will be held this Thursday and Friday at The Salvation Army Jasper/Newton County, 320 E. 8th St., Joplin, MO, 64801.

  • February 27 | 3:00 PM – 6:30 PM – Emergency Responder Vendor Showcase
    Connect with local organizations as they showcase their disaster response efforts and provide opportunities to get involved.
  • February 28 | 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM – Disaster Relief Training
    Participants will receive hands-on training, including canteen operations from The Salvation Army and disaster services training from the American Red Cross to better prepare for emergency response efforts.

The community is encouraged to attend and explore ways to support local disaster relief initiatives. The event is free to the public and vendors.
