Four people dead after two-vehicle crash in Vernon County Friday night

Four people are dead after a two-vehicle crash in Vernon County Friday night. Six others suffered injuries in the crash.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the happened around 8 p.m. on U.S. 54 near Nevada, Mo. when  a passenger carrying five people  failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by an SUV.

The car then hit a tree and a fence off the road.

Three people in the car died, including an 18-year-old woman from Springfield, a 19-year-old woman from Climax Springs, and a 21-year-old woman from Camdenton.

The driver was taken a Joplin with serious injuries.

The driver of the SUV, a 38-year-old man from Osceola, was also killed. The passengers in the SUV were all taken to the hospital, one with serious injuries.
