Voluntary boil order advisory issued for Aurora water customers

Liberty Utilities announced a voluntary boil advisory for all Aurora, Mo. customers.

The order follows a break at a business that caused a lack of pressure in the pipes.

The pressure has returned to normal after work crews fixed the break.

However, because pressure dropped, Liberty is doing a required test for bacteria.

It expects to get results within two to three business days.

During a boil advisory, it is recommended that customers:

Boil water vigorously for three minutes before use for cooking or drinking.
Let the water cool sufficiently before drinking.
Disinfect food-contact surfaces (dishes) by immersing them for at least one minute in clean tap water containing one teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon.
Dispose of ice cubes and remake with water that has been boiled.
Water used for bathing does not need to be boiled.

If you have questions or experience low water pressure, call Liberty’s customer care team at 1-800-206-2300.
