What should you do if in a car wreck today

If you have a car accident today, Newton County Sheriff Matt Stewart told Newstalk KZRG what you should do:

“So the best thing to do is obviously call your local dispatch. If you don’t know that number, just call 911. That’ll get you to that place. Two, stay in your vehicle. The roads are too slick to be trying to get out of your vehicle. There could be other cars sliding into your vehicle. Plus, the temperatures are just dangerously cold and will be most of the day. So it’s best to just stay in your vehicle, keep that heater going, call for law enforcement, EMS, fire, whatever it needs to be, and we’ll come check on you.”
