Murder charges filed against man who shot Amazon driver

First-degree murder charges have now been filed against 64-year-old Thomas Coy, of Wentworth, Missouri, after he confessed to shooting an Amazon delivery driver in the head last week.
Family and friends say the driver, 23-year-old Jasmine Sky Taylor, of Joplin, passed away from her injuries at a local hospital Sunday evening.
On Wednesday, Coy reportedly shot Taylor while she was pulling up to the driveway of his home on Lawrence County Road 2152, north of Pierce City.
Deputies say Taylor’s delivery van then went into a field and crashed into a fence.
Amazon video cameras showed Coy going to the vehicle and taking her from the driver’s seat and laying her in the ditch roadside.
The incident was initially reported as a traffic crash by a neighbor, before the pellet rifle bullet was found while Taylor was in a Joplin hospital.
Deputies returned to the scene and interviewed Coy, who confessed to the crime.
He is being held in the Lawrence County Jail without bond.
If convicted, he could face up to life in prison.
