Quapaw Public Schools to host Dancing With the Stars event

Looking for a fun night out that will raise money for a good cause?
The Quapaw Public schools will be hosting a Dancing with the Stars event at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8 to benefit several afterschool programs.
“We’ve paired some students from Quapaw Public Schools, I’ll be there moderating, hosting if you will,” said Barry Linduff, Executive Director of Communications for the Quapaw Nation. “They’ll be dancing with people from the community. … It raises a ton of money for these (programs).”
The event will be held at Quapaw Public Schools and tickets are $15 per person. Several members of the community will take part.
“They’re going to be used for a couple of different things—scholarships, after prom and the backpack program,” Linduff said when asked what the raised funds will go towards. “Unfortunately, we live in an age where food is scarce in some of these communities. So, we are going to make sure that our kids get fed, and get taken care of. You can’t learn, you can’t be the best you can be if you’re hungry.”
