Three people injured in accident on Cedar Road near Carthage

One person from Carthage and two people from California suffered injuries in an accident late Sunday morning on Cedar Road, 3 miles south of Carthage.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident happened when a westbound 2025 Mazda CX-5, driven by a 27-year-old man from Los Angeles, crossed the center of the roadway and struck an eastbound 2016 Chevrolet Camaro driven by a 28-year-old man from Carthage head-on.
The Mazda driver and his passenger, a 24-year-old woman from Los Angeles, suffered moderate injuries. They were taken to Mercy-Joplin by EMS.
The driver from Carthage had minor injuries. He was taken by personal vehicle to Mercy-Carthage.
No names were released by the Highway Patrol.
