All bets are off: Missouri voters oppose ballot measure to build Lake of the Ozarks casino

All bets are off on a ballot measure to build a casino at the Lake of the Ozarks.

A proposal to build a casino at the Lake of the Ozarks has been dealt a losing hand. In Tuesday’s general election, roughly 52-percent of Missouri voters opposed Amendment 5.

The plan would have allowed the Missouri Gaming Commission to issue an additional license for a casino, which would have been built on the Osage River near Bagnell Dam.

Bally’s Entertainment was seeking to build a casino near the popular tourist destination.
