Jasper County deputies looking for car related to death investigation

A death investigation is underway in Jasper County, Missouri, after the body of a man was found in a ditch just off I-44 Monday evening.

Sheriff Randee Kaiser says they found 63-year-old Jesse Gilmore, of Oklahoma, dead near mile marker 14.8.

An autopsy will take place Friday.

Investigators are looking for a vehicle related to the incident. A red 2010 Chevy Cobalt with Oklahoma license plate PIH667. It has significant damage to the passenger side rear-door.

Shortly after 5:00 PM Tuesday, the red Chevy Cobalt was located and recovered in Independence, MO. If anyone has information about this vehicle being around the Quik Trip at I-44 and I-249 during the daytime on Tuesday please call JASCO at 417-359-9100 and ask for Det. Sgt. Cady.

This is an active investigation and more information may be released at a later time.
