City of Joplin launches survey to gain feedback on current website

The City of Joplin Marketing and Communications Department encourages everyone to take a recently launched survey as work begins on redesigning the City of Joplin’s website, www.joplinmo.org.

The City recently added the Marketing and Communications Department to increase public engagement and share more information in a timely manner. One of the department’s top priorities is improving the website.

“We’ve heard from our citizens, stakeholders, and business owners. We know our website needs work,” said Drew Douglas, director of the new department. “To provide a city government website that is user-friendly and works for everyone, we’re asking questions to learn how individuals use the site, what works, and what doesn’t. We are digging into their experience with joplinmo.org so we can incorporate their needs into this redesign.”

The survey starts the research phase for the organization’s website redesign project. The department is looking for input from everyone, no matter how often they visit the site.

“Whether people just use the website occasionally or on a regular basis, we want to hear from them,” said Douglas.

The survey will take approximately ten minutes. Participants are asked to provide details and be specific about their experience.

“This is the first step in the research phase for the major redesign of the City website, and there will be more opportunities to provide feedback throughout the process,” says Douglas. “Our team is really excited to begin reviewing the input gathered through the survey. Your insights will help us move the City of Joplin towards offering better digital experiences and raise the standard for high-performance government. We want to thank all those who take the survey and share their ideas with us through the process.”
