Man from Jay, Oklahoma charged with sexual abuse of a minor in Indian Country

United States Attorney Clint Johnson has announced the results of the July Federal Grand Jury 2024-A Indictments.
The following individuals have been charged with violations of United States law in indictments returned by the Grand Jury. The return of an indictment is a method of informing a defendant of alleged violations of federal law, which must be proven in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt to overcome a defendant’s presumption of innocence.
54-year-old Joseph Scott Campbell of Jay, Oklahoma is charged with sexual abuse of a minor in Indian Country.
Campbell is charged with engaging in a sexual act with a minor victim under 16 years old. The FBI, Cherokee Nation Marshall Service, and the Tahlequah Police Department are the investigative agencies.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Alicia Hockenbury is prosecuting the case.
