Sunday afternoon crash in Lawrence County kills driver from Republic

A crash on Missouri 14, about a two miles north of Marionville, took the life of a man from Republic, Mo. over the weekend.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred around 1:20 Sunday afternoon when an eastbound Chevy Equinox driven by 37-year-old Christopher C. Bell ran off the roadway, struck a sign and overturned, ejecting Bell from the car.

He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident a little after 2 p.m.

It was Highway Patrol Troop D's 45th fatal accident of the year in southwest Missouri.
