Galena man given nine-year prison sentence for child sex crime

A man from Galena, Kansas, has been sentenced to nearly nine years in prison.

31-year-old Bazil Hudson will spend 107 months in confinement in the Kansas Department of Corrections after he pleaded guilty to Aggravated Indecent Liberties with a Child and Lewd and Lascivious behavior.

Hudson has been incarcerated in the Cherokee County Jail since December 2021, pending the outcome of this criminal case.

He was transferred to the custody of the Kansas Secretary of Corrections earlier this week.

Hudson was prosecuted by the Office of Cherokee County Attorney Kurt Benecke.
