Parson has till month's end to make budget decisions

MISSOURINET - Governor Parson has until the end of the month to decide what stays and what goes in the Missouri Legislature’s $51-billion dollar state budget proposal.

A frustrated Parson says there will be line item vetoes in the plan that was about one-billion dollars below his budget proposal…

"I am going to leave the state in good shape when I leave office," Governor Parson said.

"I am not going to let somebody come in here in two or three months and all of a sudden say ' hey, by the way you owe someone a billion dollars.'  You got to pay the bills. We owe that to the people  we owe the bills to. I'm not sure why didn't have that in the budget in the first place. It's not my job.:"

The package includes funding to boost pay to state workers, childcare access to low-income families, and widen I-44 in Joplin, Springfield and Rolla
