Juneteenth activities slated for this weekend in Joplin

Juneteenth activities are planned this weekend in Joplin.

Events will be held at Hope Park at 109 S. High Street, one block north of Joe Becker Stadium.

Both days will include food trucks, and Kids Zone activities including face-painting, balloon guys, sidewalk chart art, inflatables, art sketches, coloring, yard games and more.

Saturday activities include:

Sunday activities include:

2 p.m.
Soul Food Sunday

3 p.m.
Father’s Day Fun Day at 3 p.m.

Carver National Monument program

On Sunday, from 1-2 p.m. join a park ranger for an informative program on the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States.

That presentation will take place at the George Washington Carver National Monument at 5646 Carver Road, near Diamond, MO.
