Friday night crash kills man from Carthage

A man from Carthage was killed in a traffic accident Friday evening at 26th Street and Black at Road near Twin Hills.

The accident took place around 6:30 p.m.

The Joplin Police Department told NewsTalk KZRG that 42-year old Sergio Marroquin  was traveling  west on 26th Street when he failed to stop at an intersection and hit a tree.

Police said alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.

Next of kin have been notified.
