Accident just outside of Carthage injures three women

Three women were injured in an accident on I-44 at Highway HH, about 100 feet west of Carthage.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when a Ford F-150 pickup driven by 33-year-old Logan Rice of Bella Vista, Ark. attempted to cross Highway HH and struck a passenger car driven by 27-year old Stephanie Morales of Joplin.

Morales suffered moderate injuries as did two occupants in her car: 19-year-old Christina N. Morales of Carthage and 52-year-old Maria C. Morales of Carthage.

All three  women were taken by ambulance to Mercy Carthage Hospital.

Rice was not injured.
