Friday afternoon crash involves four vehicles; one driver seriously injured

An accident involving four vehicles on Missouri 96, two miles south of Miller Friday afternoon led to serious injuries to a driver from Rich Hill, Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a Cadillac Escalade driven by 73-year old Joseph W. Adams attempted to overtake a  Freightliner tractor-trailer rig driven by 59-year-old Jose R. Velasco of Horizon City, Texas.

Adams’ car then hit an oncoming Ford F150 pickup driven by 47-year-old Jennifer L. Beyer of Miller.

Adam’ Cadillac then struck the Freightliner and overturned.

A Subaru Impreza driven by 76-year-old Joy O. Poehl of Avilla was also involved in the crash.

None of the drivers was injured except Adams.

He suffered serious injuries..

He was airlifted to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
