Cinco de Mayo celebration planned for Sunday 

Students, faculty, staff, and the community are invited to attend the Cinco de Mayo celebration at Gorilla Village east of Carnie Smith Stadium at Pittsburg State University starting at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 5.


It will feature the El Gordo food truck, aguas frescas (“cool waters”) and street corn in a cup by the Hispanics of Today student organization, and music by Hispanic Banda, a group comprised of Pitt State students, alumni, and community members, as well as a few student musicians from Pittsburg High School.


Those buying food can use Venmo and cash.


Guests are asked to bring lawn chairs.
