Vehicle hits building in Pittsburg

There was an encounter between a vehicle and a building in Pittsburg Thursday afternoon.

It happened  in the 2700 block of N. Joplin Street about 12:45 p.m. when 34-year old Dutch Floyd swerved to miss an animal in the street.

His vehicle then  traveled through an empty lot and struck a building at 2702 N. Joplin.

Authorities say the building was unoccupied at the time of the crash.

Floyd sustained a head injury and but chose to seek medical attention at a later time.
