Suspect in custody following fatal shooting in Aurora park

A juvenile male is in custody following a fatal shooting in a park in Aurora.
On Friday, March 29 at approximately 9:06 p.m., Aurora-Marionville Police (AMPD) were dispatched to White Park in Aurora in reference to a shooting.
Upon arrival, Officers found 19-year-old Garron McGlothlin suffering from a gunshot wound.
Medical crews arrived and transported him to a Springfield hospital with life threatening injuries.
McGlothin subsequently died of his injuries.
AMPD quickly identified the suspect a 17-year-old male who was seen running from White Park immediately following the shooting by numerous witnesses.
A news release dated March 30 informed the public that the teen had been taken into custody and that the threat to the community had come to an end.
