Morning accident injures a woman from Carthage

A Saturday morning accident in Newton County injured a woman from Carthage.

It happened on Newton Road about 2 miles north of Joplin around 7:45 Saturday morning when an eastbound passenger car driven by 20-year old Bradyn Norris of Diamond failed to yield and pulled into the path of a westbound pickup driven by 35-year-old Nathan J. Powell of Carthage.

A passenger in Powell’s pickup, 33-year-old Jasmine L. Powell, suffered moderate injuries.

She was taken to Freeman Hospital in Joplin.

Neither driver was injured.
