Joplin man dead after shooting on northwest side of city

A man from Joplin is dead after a shooting on the northwest side of town Monday morning.

Jasper County Deputies got a call of a disturbance with shots fired on Pump Lane, southwest of Zora and Schifferdecker.

When deputies arrived, they found a deceased male on the property and later identified him as 37-year-old Travis S. Wyrick.

There is no threat to the public and all involved people have been contacted and are being interviewed.

The investigation continues and more information may be released.
