Passenger car hits parked semi from the rear near Halltown; car driver killed

There was a fatal accident in southwest Missouri over the weekend.

The accident occurred on the exit ramp from westbound I-44 at Halltown around 1:18 Sunday morning.

A Kia Forte driven by 21-year old Jordan H. Collier of Mt. Vernon struck the rear of 2020 Kenworth Tractor-Trailer parked at the side of the road.

The truck driver was 52-year-old St. George W. Pink of Lilburn, Georgia.

Collier was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lawrence County Coroner.

Pink was not injured.

The wreck was investigated by the Highway Patrol's Major Crash Investigation Unit.
