Three charged with crimes in Baxter Springs

On March 17, 2024 Baxter Springs Officers were dispatched to the area of 1000 W 5th Street for reports of a suspicious vehicle.

After officers arrived and started their investigation one of the three individuals one stated “We’re not stealing” and after continued investigation all three were placed under arrest for a variety of charges.

Three people are charged. 

They are 45-year-old Gerald Wayne Skyver, 43-year-old Dustin Scott Turner, and 54-year-old Judith Lynn Desserrott.

Charges that were filed included:

* Theft of Property/Services Felony;
* Criminal Damage to Property Felony;
* Interference with Law Enforcement Officer;
* Criminal Trespassing;
* Possession Drug Paraphernalia and;
* Possession of Methamphetamines

Each person accused of a crime is presumed to be innocent is presumed innocent until they are proven guilty.
