TRAFFIC ALERT: Traffic shifted on Route 86 at Hammer Road in Neosho beginning Monday

Contractor crews will shift traffic head-to-head in the westbound lanes of Route 86 as part of a project to build a dual-lane roundabout and make intersection improvements on Route 86 at Hammer Road between I-49 and Missouri Route 175 (Gateway Drive) in Neosho.

The project is slated to begin at 7 a.m., Monday, March 18. It will last for up to eight weeks.

Traffic impacts:

• Hammer Road CLOSED south of the intersection
• Hammer Road OPEN north of intersection in a right-in-right-out configuration, no left turns allowed
• Route 86 traffic will be shifted head-to-head in westbound lanes
• Center turn lane and both eastbound lanes will be CLOSED
• Access to businesses on Route 86 will be open during construction
• Access to Branco Enterprises Inc., from South Hammer Road
• No signed detour
• Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
• Drivers urged to find alternate routes to avoid work zone
• Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
• Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.
