Severe Weather Preparedness Week

Missouri and Kansas Severe Weather Preparedness Week (SWPW) is this week.

Each day will have a specific theme or topic to promote including lightning safety, tornado safety, hail and wind safety, and flood safety.

This year’s tornado drill will occur on at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6.

Communities are encouraged to sound your outdoor warning sirens as part of the drill as you may have done in the past.

Each National Weather Service office will have numerous social media posts throughout the
week
